Our new way of working; the perfect blend of online theory and hands on learning

We have made some really exciting changes to the way we work. You may have noticed a few changes on the website so we wanted to explain.

First though, just a note to say that during this lockdown the Academy remains open. We are still here, just working in isolation. You can still phone and email us with any questions you may have. You can still book and secure your place on upcoming courses and any bookings and transfers affected by Covid-19 will all be honoured.

Now for the exciting part! We have changed the way we deliver all of our Diplomas to keep your learning journey alive and provide a more effective, flexible way to pursue your qualification. In a nutshell all of our ITEC Level 3 & 4 courses will now be delivered through Blended Learning. This means all students will be given online access to course materials, interactive presentations and videos along with regular support via video calls with your tutor. Basically we are taking the theory online. One thing remains the same though, the changes will not reduce hands on time. We will never compromise the quality of the teaching, we are just getting smarter and more streamlined about the way we deliver the theory.

Our goal is to ensure that no time is lost to those who want to study. We are also future proofing the courses we offer to minimise downtime for students.

What is Blended Learning?

This time brings many challenges, and as ever also gifts us with opportunities too. We have used the past year as a chance for growth. We introduced blended learning options for our courses, something that has been in development for some time now with the first phase introduced in January and we are thankful that we have been able to bring this phase forward to support our students in this time.

Blended learning takes elements of your courses online allowing you to work through theory in your own time at home. Our practical elements will remain in the classroom ensuring our commitment to the highest standards in learning for you remains.

We then follow up your learning with classroom days to bolster your understanding and complete the practical elements of the course. Our commitment is to the highest possible standards in learning and the classroom remains the place to cement these skills.

Which courses can be studied in this way?

Each of our Diploma's can be studied through blended learning now and even better you can also complete the Anatomy & Physiology module for each course through E-Learning too!

For all students undertaking ITEC qualifications from September 2020 onwards, it is now mandatory to undertake the ITEC Level 2 Infection Control qualification in light of the recent pandemic. This is following guidance from Ofqual.
We are delighted to be able to offer this Level 2 Award included within our ITEC qualifications.

What are the safety measures within the Academy classrooms?

We have created a space where everyone feels safe. Our protocols are in line with Government guidelines and are as strict and sensible as required to navigate this time back in the classroom whilst recognising that we all need to rebuild confidence in returning to this new normal in a supportive environment. If anyone has concerns we invite you to talk them over with us.

So what awaits you returning to the Academy - read the protocol here.

What if your course is affected by Covid-19 restrictions?

We continue to stay in touch with current and future students throughout this time updating on any changes.

For current students we are continuing to support your learning where we can and for those whose classroom dates have been affected we have transferred your course to future dates.

For those booked onto upcoming courses we continue to honour all bookings and transfer any courses which have to be postponed onto future dates.

For those wishing to book we will honour your booking if the pandemic restrictions are still in place at the time of your classroom dates and we will rearrange to future dates for you. Please do get in touch if you wish to talk over any aspects of the course, we would love to meet you even if it can’t be in person.

Our approach to being open and honest throughout this time continues. With that in mind we can not say for sure when restrictions will be lifted and any planned dates that cannot go ahead will be rescheduled with you. So let us just say this - the moment it is safe to reopen the Academy doors we will gratefully do so. We miss having our classrooms full of excitement, laughter and learning.

May we take this opportunity to thank our community for your patience, understanding and care. We look forward to seeing you back at the Academy soon. Take care.
