• Anatomy of the Face:

  • Explore the facial anatomy, including skeletal structure, muscles, lymphatics, nerves, and circulation, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the facial framework.

• Anatomy of the Upper Back, Neck, and Décolletage:

  • Extend your knowledge to include the upper back, neck, and décolletage, vital areas often overlooked in holistic facial treatments.

• Anatomy of the Skin:

  • Dive into the intricate layers of the skin, including the skin cycle, epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous layer, to understand how each contributes to the skin's overall health and appearance.

• Skin Types and Skin Analysis:

  • Gain expertise in recognising various skin types and mastering the art of skin analysis to provide tailored treatments.

• Skin Conditions and Disorders:

  • Explore common skin conditions and disorders, equipping you to address these issues with knowledge and care.

• Factors Affecting the Skin:

  • Understand the diverse factors influencing skin health and appearance, enabling you to provide comprehensive skincare guidance.

• Benefits and Principles of Holistic Facials:

  • Learn the core principles and the remarkable benefits of holistic facials in promoting relaxation, rejuvenation, and skin wellness.

• Equipment, Client Preparation, and Treatment Area:

  • Familiarise yourself with the necessary equipment, client preparation techniques, and setting up the treatment area for holistic facials.

• Application and Product Knowledge:

  • Master the use and understanding of facial products, including cleansers, toners, exfoliators, natural masks, and facial massage oils.

• Facial Massage Routine:

  • Develop a comprehensive facial massage routine, incorporating pressure points, facial rejuvenation massage techniques, and specialized eye massages.

• Consultation, Contra-indications, and Contra-actions:

  • Learn the art of client consultation, identify contra-indications, and address contra-actions effectively to ensure safe and tailored treatments.

• Aftercare and Treatment Plans:

  • Provide clients with aftercare guidance and create personalized treatment plans to maintain and enhance the benefits of holistic facials.

• Health and Safety, Insurance, Hygiene, and Professionalism:

  • Comprehend the crucial aspects of health and safety, including hygiene standards and professionalism, ensuring the highest quality care and ethical practice.

Assessment Criteria

You will be required to complete the following as part of this course:

• Completion of pre-learning course manual (to be completed prior to course contact day)
• 9 Case Studies (3 people x 3 times)
• Plus assessment date (in person or over Zoom) to be confirmed at the start of the course

Certification and CPD Points: 

Cotswold Academy Certificate of Attendance- 5 CPD points per day - additional points for pre-learning and assessment (further 5 CPD)

Entry Requirements

In order to take part in this holistic facial course, you must already have acquired a Level 3 Diploma in Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Sports Massage or equivalent. We will ask you to provide a copy of your qualification. Please enquire if you are uncertain about your qualification.
