Information about the new Infection Control Award

Introduction of Infection Prevention (COVID-19) for complementary therapies and sports massage

For all students undertaking ITEC qualifications from September 2020 onwards, it is now mandatory to undertake the ITEC Level 2 Infection Control qualification in light of the recent pandemic. This is following guidance from Ofqual.

The qualification is the only one currently regulated by the government (Ofqual) and therefore all students are required to undertake it even if you have completed something similar elsewhere. Your qualification in your chosen subject (eg; Reflexology, Sports Massage etc) will only be awarded once you have completed the Level 2 Award in Infection Control.

We are delighted to be able to offer this Level 2 Award included in within our ITEC qualifications.

Accessing the course content

The course content will be delivered through 6 x slide packs to be home studied, with a recommended study time of 4 hours to complete. A breakdown of the learning outcomes is included at the bottom of this blog.

You will be able to access the course content via the student dashboard once you have booked your place on an ITEC qualification (eg; Sports Massage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Massage).

Examination

The assessment for this qualification is a multiple choice question paper which can be sat remotely from home or at the Academy via computer at an arranged time.
