Create Your Own English Garden Aromatherapy Blends

Inspired by blooming flowers, herb gardens, and peaceful countryside walks, English garden essential oil blends can bring a fresh and calming atmosphere into your home.

One of our favourite parts of the Aromatherapy course is learning how to blend oils safely and creatively. Whether creating products for clients, personal use, or handmade gifts, aromatherapy blending is both practical and enjoyable.

These English garden inspired blends work beautifully as room sprays, in baths, or for use in diffusers.

How to Create a Room Spray

You will need:

  • 120ml aluminium cosmetic spray bottle with atomiser and cap
  • Distilled water
  • Essential oils for your chosen blend
  • Ethanol alcohol (optional) – alcohol acts as a preservative, aids blending of essential oils with water, and helps the spray disperse into the air.

Step by step guide:

Prepare the Base:

Fill your spray bottle with either 100ml distilled water or blend 75ml distilled water with 25ml ethanol alcohol.

Add Essential Oils:

Add up to 30 drops of your chosen essential oil blend.

Mix and Enjoy:

Secure the lid tightly, shake well, and your room fragrance spray is ready to use.

Always check safety data and ensure blends are suitable for people and pets in the home before use.

Using These Blends in a Bath

Essential oils should always be diluted before adding to a bath.

To create an aromatic bath blend:

  • Mix 4–6 drops of essential oil with a tablespoon of carrier oil or unscented bath base.
  • Add to warm running water.
  • Relax and enjoy the aroma.

Floral and herbal blends can help create a calming atmosphere, making them perfect for evening relaxation and self-care rituals.

Always check safety data and ensure blends are suitable for each person before use.
