Tapping into a Calmer You this December

Tapping for Calm, Confidence, and Conviction This December

December can be a tricky month for therapists — the energy shifts, clients are distracted, and it’s easy to feel that familiar wobble about business, time, or money.

That’s exactly why we recorded this short tapping (EFT) practice — to help you hold your nerve, stay calm, and connect with your confidence and conviction.

Watch the video below and tap along whenever you need a reset.

What Is Tapping?

Tapping, or Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), combines gentle finger tapping on acupuncture points with simple, focused phrases that help calm the nervous system.

It’s a bit like pressing your body’s “reset” button — shifting you out of stress mode and back into balance.

Research shows that tapping can:

  • Lower cortisol levels (the hormone linked to stress and overwhelm)
  • Calm the amygdala, the brain’s emotional alarm centre
  • Reduce anxiety, tension, and physical stress symptoms
  • Increase emotional regulation, focus, and resilience

In short: it’s a fast, effective, and portable way to support your mental health.

Why It’s Ideal for Therapists in December

At this time of year, our nervous systems can take a hit. We hold space for clients, juggle diaries, and manage our own seasonal fatigue, sometimes all at once.

Tapping helps you:

  • Release the energy you’ve absorbed from clients
  • Stay grounded when business feels unpredictable
  • Reconnect to your professional confidence and trust
  • Reset your stress response in minutes

The sequence in the video was designed specifically for you: therapists who want to finish the year feeling steady, centred, and clear.

The Tapping Points

Here’s a quick guide to the tapping points, in order:

  1. Side of Hand (Karate Chop Point) – the outer edge of your hand, below the little finger
  2. Top of Head – the crown of your head
  3. Eyebrow Point – where your eyebrow starts, near the bridge of your nose
  4. Side of Eye – on the bone at the outer corner of your eye
  5. Under Eye – on the bone directly below your eye
  6. Under Nose – between your nose and upper lip
  7. Chin Point – in the crease between your lower lip and chin
  8. Collarbone Point – just below the collarbone, slightly to the side
  9. Under Arm – about a hand’s width below your armpit

Tap lightly with two or three fingers, breathing gently as you go.

The December Challenge

We would like to invite you to tap daily through December.

Try tapping:

  • In the morning before your first client
  • Between sessions to reset your energy
  • Or in the evening to unwind and clear the day

Notice how your stress levels shift, how your thinking softens, and how your confidence rebuilds bit by bit.

Think of tapping as part of your professional self-care — a quiet way to keep your nervous system steady and your mindset strong as you head toward the new year.

A Final Word

You’ve supported so many people this year, this is your reminder to support yourself, too.

Tapping is a simple, powerful tool to bring you back to calm, clarity, and conviction.
