Keep the Christmas Momentum Going... How to Engage with Cold Leads

Right — we’ve done really well so far planning Christmas for your business! (Links to our previous Christmas planning blogs below!)

You’ve communicated your opening times, built some lovely demand with your current clients, and maybe even got those gift vouchers ready to go. Perhaps you’ve planned a few festive events, or decided to offer family packages for those cosy “at home” days like Boxing Day.

So what’s next?

Now it’s time to reach out a little further — especially if you still have some spaces to fill in December, or want to start building your New Year diary nice and early.

A great place to start is with those clients you haven’t seen for a while — maybe 6 months or more. People’s schedules change, priorities shift, and sometimes they just need a gentle nudge to get back on the table. A friendly message can make all the difference.

Here’s a simple template you can use (or tweak to suit your voice):

Template message:

Hi [Client’s Name],
I hope you’re well and enjoying the build-up to Christmas!
I just wanted to check in as I’m currently filling my Christmas diary, and I wondered whether now might be a good time for a treatment for you?
If you’d like to book in, I’ve got a few spaces left before Christmas, and I’m also taking bookings for the New Year if that suits better.
Hope to hear from you soon,
[Your Name]

A short, friendly message like this can be enough to reconnect with past clients — and you’ll often find they’ve been meaning to book but just needed that little reminder.

Keep the energy going, stay visible, and make the most of this wonderful time of year.

A tip for last-minute cancellations

Even with the best planning, life happens — clients get sick, busy, or simply need to reschedule. Here’s a simple way to combat last-minute cancellations, especially during the winter “bug season”: use your social media to share any newly available slots.

A quick post on Instagram, Facebook, or even in your WhatsApp groups can let clients know there’s a sudden opening. Often, these slots fill fast with people who’ve been waiting for a chance to book, meaning your diary stays busy even at the last minute. A friendly, light-hearted message like “A few spots have just opened this week — first come, first served!” works perfectly.
