Time to change up gears! Taking it from Level 3 to Level 4 in Sports Massage

Are you ready to take it up a gear! We look at the telltale signs that you need to progress your practice and what the course will unlock in your treatments.

What is ITEC Sports Massage Level 4?

ITEC Level 4 Certificate in Sports Massage is designed to build upon and advance Level 3 Sports Massage practitioners to exceptionally high standards in the delivery of Injury Assessment and Sports Massage Techniques.

Many of our students choose to progress their practice in quick succession of Level 3 which works really well to launch your career if you have the time and space to complete the courses back to back. A great alternative however is to get Level 3 under your belt and gain your clinical experience and understanding to give you a platform to build upon - it all depends on what will work best for you, your career goals and the business you are looking to shape.

For anyone who has completed Level 3 and has taken the time to gain experience, let's take a look at the reasons you may want to take that next step.

Indications you need to progress to level 4?

Are you in a place where treatments you're giving people can be repetitive?
Are you coming up against the same postural assessments?
Are your clients often coming back saying it helps, but only for a few days?

Then Level 4 will be a really exciting platform equipping you with a whole new set of assessment techniques and hand skills.

How is Level 4 different from Level 3?

Level 4 takes your skills and experience and builds on them, opening up brand new avenues of assessments and treatments for your therapy toolkit as it were. It transforms your understanding of injury management.

Namely Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and developing Triggerpoint therapies that step further. These techniques will take your practice up a level and enable your treatments to be that much more powerful and impactful.

To sit alongside these new techniques you will also be given a whole host of new and exciting assessments to pinpoint and track client issues.

Here we catch up with Chris Phillips, Level 4 course Tutor and Principal of the Academy, and quiz him on the whys and wherefores of Level 4 Sports Massage…

So there you have it, you will be enhancing your offering and extending your capabilities in the following key areas:

  • Developing your understanding of fascial imbalances
  • Specialised techniques of stretching tight muscle groups
  • Muscle Energy Techniques & Soft Tissue Release
  • Assessment techniques to dramatically transform and track your treatment
  • Understand postural imbalances and further develop your skills to correct these

We will be exploring the major new tools Level 4 in Sports Massage will unlock for you in a taster evening at the Academy.
