ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Aromatherapy

This course is an absolute essential for any Therapist involved in the Complementary Therapy and Care Industry.

Training to become a Clinical Aromatherapist will give you the specialist knowledge needed to be able to blend and prescribe for your clients specific needs. This practice will also enable you to treat clients and prevent health problems.

This course is designed to train a complete beginner up to a professional Aromatherapist. It also includes learning your Holistic Massage routine for performing a full body treatment on your client. 

On this course, you will learn the properties of 45+ essential oils and how to use them appropriately and safely as well as learning to blend to make your own creams and lotions. You will be given a depth of knowledge in diseases and disorders of the whole body as well as advanced massage techniques, lymphatic drainage and acupressure points. 


Syllabus Details

Unit 382 Provide Aromatherapy for Complementary Therapies


Classes are taught in a relaxed environment using talks, lectures, visuals and detailed practical demonstration. Students will cover the following:

  • Working properties of 45 essential oils
  • Properties of 7 Carrier oils
  • Oil blending, synergies, definitions
  • Diseases & Disorders of all body systems
  • Advanced massage techniques, lymphatic drainage and acupressure points
  • Skincare & Facials
  • Specialist sessions to include, for example, Aromatherapy for Stress Management, Aromatherapy for cancer patients
  • Learn to make your own creams and lotions for treatments

 

 

Unit 383 - Knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology for Complementary Therapies:

Identify and explain the origins and principles of 4 other complementary therapies.

 

If you have already covered these assignments in a previous qualification such as a Massage Diploma, we may be able to RPL (recognition of prior learning). See Entrance requirements for more information.


Assessment Criteria: 

  • 36 x Case studies ( 6 people x 6 times )

  • Plus 15 treatments logged in consultation forms

  • 9 applications - can be making up creams, potions & lotions

  • Directory of Oils to be completed (15 oils)

  • 2 x Assignments (Unit 384 & 385)

  • A&P Theory Paper – 50 multiple choice questions

  • Practical Exam

  • You will be required to sit a “mock” practical exam, usually 2-3 weeks before the “real” practical exam. This is to allow you a practice run, and for your tutor to give you feedback on areas to work on.

Please note: You will return after the course contact days to take your exams- usually a 2-4 months later to give you time to complete your Case Studies and Assignment work.

Fast Track:

This course requires attendance Monday – Friday for two consecutive weeks.

No Previous Experience Needed

If you do not yet have a Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy and Physiology, you can study this along side your Reflexology course via e-learning or classroom learning. Please see below for prices. If you need advice on whether you need to do your A+P qualification, please get in contact.

Already have an Anatomy and Physiology qualification or completed the same assignments on another qualification? 

If a student already holds a recognisable qualification in Anatomy & Physiology, we may potentially be able to RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for the A&P Unit 383.  We may also be able to RPL for Unit 384 and 385 if these assignments have been completed as part of another Level 3 QCF qualification. The qualification must have been completed in the last 5 years and ITEC must give written confirmation of RPL. There is a fee of £35+vat.  Please note, if a Unit is RPL'd, you will only be able to receive an overall Pass mark for your course. Please get in contact to begin the RPL process or check if your qualification is eligible.

Please note- you will not attend the afternoons on the first week, so timings would be as follows: 

First week: Attendance 9.30am-12.30pm

Second week: Attendance 9.30am-4pm 


How do I pay?

A 25% deposit is payable immediately to secure your place on receipt of your invoice, with the remaining balance due at least 4 weeks prior to the start of your course.

Payment can be made via bank transfer or cheque. If you would like to pay via Credit Card, there will be a 2.5% charge added to the amount due. Please let us know upon receiving your invoice if you would like to pay by card, and we will send through a request for payment.
