Muscle Energy Technique – Two Day Workshop

This workshop is designed to further develop therapist’s skills in working with tight muscles and clients with range of movement problems.

It’s ideal for people wishing to learn something new and also to refresh their massage skills.

WHAT IS MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUE?

Muscle energy technique (or MET) is based on the principle of reciprocal inhibition, a theory that explains that muscles on one side of a joint will always relax to accommodate the contraction of muscles on the other side of that joint when indirect pressure is applied. MET is often applied to clients who suffer from muscle tightness and shorting. Muscle energy techniques are applied to a client in order to lengthen shortened or spastic muscles, to improve weakened ligament and muscle strength, and to improve range of motion

Course Content:

  • Refresh massage skills and techniques
  • Revisit some of the main muscles worked on every day in our clinics
