Discovering the reflex zones and areas of the feet and hands and how, by specific manipulation of these areas, outstanding results can be obtained.
An age old therapeutic technique that many clients can benefit from and it is one of the few practices that can be offered safely as relief to cancer patients.
This course would benefit any therapist wanting to expand their skill base, operate their own clinic, or gain employment in the leisure or care industries.
Course Content:
- Anatomy & Physiology of the foot, ankle, lower leg, hand, wrist and lower arm
- Disorders of the feet, hands and nails.
- History and concept of Reflex zones and their functions
- The effects of reflexology on the body’s systems
- Possible reactions to reflexology treatment
- Legislation applicable to reflexology treatment
- Issues concerning ‘consent’ to treatment
Each session is divided into 50% theory study and 50% Practical massage.
Assessment: Case studies, assignments and exams are required to be complete this award.
Course Dates: 14th May 2012 – 25th May 2012 (attendance required Monday – Friday for two consecutive weeks) 8th October – 19th October (attendance required Monday – Friday for two consecutive weeks)
Entrance Requirements: ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology or equivalent.
